The 2010/11 season at the Bayerisches Staatschauspiel is very much in the spirit of Heinrich von Kleist, the great doubter of German drama.

Residenz Theater presents Heinrich von Kleist’s “Penthesilea” (Oct. 24) and his “Käthchen von Heilbronn” directed by Dieter Dorn.

At the Münchner Kammerspiele things get going with the premieres “Call of the Wild” by Jack London (starting October), Heinrich von Kleist “Hermannsschlacht” (starting October), Stefan Zweig “Angst” (November), “Alles nur der Liebe wegen” (December), “Winterreise” by Elfriede Jelinek (starting January), “Ludwig II” after Luchino Visconti (starting March).
