"GemÜtlichkeit"

Outdoor & indoor – whether in a beer garden or a traditional pub, Bavaria is where “Gemütlichkeit” must have been invented. ‘Gemütlichkeit’: the word alone, known worldwide, testifies to a certain fascination and refers to a genuine attitude towards life that is enjoyed to the fullest here in Bavaria’s capital city, throughout all seasons and at all times: in summer, in a typical beer garden, sitting at long tables under chestnut trees; in winter in the warm liveliness of any number of traditional pubs. In both cases, of course, with a beer, a portion of Schweinsbraten (roast pork) or any number of other local specialties. Gemütlichkeit is an expression of enjoyment, of pleasure, conviviality – and quite simply of enjoying the good life.
